Dr. Julie Nagel oversees Hafion’s business objectives, develops strategic partnerships, and guides key operations. Previously, Dr. Nagel served as President of KU Innovation and Collaboration and Associate Vice Chancellor for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the University of Kansas. In this role, she led a university-wide strategy to drive entrepreneurship and the partnering and translation of faculty technology to the commercial market. Dr. Nagel also served as Executive Director of Corporate Partnerships at The University of Kansas and as Managing Director of the Oncological Sciences Center in Discovery Park at Purdue University. Her startup experience includes working with the University of Michigan spin-out and Rubicon Genomics, and as a Principle Consultant for BBC Entrepreneurial Training and Consulting. Dr. Nagel earned a Bachelor’s degree in biology from John Brown University, Master’s degree in zoology from Oklahoma State, and PhD in environmental toxicology from the University of Tennessee.
