Aaron Nagel

Director Technology Development

Mr. Aaron Nagel is Director of Technology Development at Hafion.  He has 20 years of professional experience primarily in life science research using and supporting various cutting-edge technologies in the commercial marketplace. Prior to Hafion, Aaron co-founded Sunflower Genomics, Inc. (formerly Digital NanoGenetics) where he served as Technology Development Lead.  At SGI, Aaron was responsible for management and commercial development of the lead product – X-TOF technology.  Aaron started his career at Roche Diagnostics where he was an integral part of the Life Science Technical Operations Group that provided high-level technical expertise and troubleshooting for sophisticated instrumentation and accompanying reagent/kit workflows for nucleic acid isolation, qPCR, microarrays, and next-generation sequencing instrumentation. In addition to these responsibilities, he also supported the Roche Sequencing Solutions product lines and workflows for DNA/RNA sequence capture applications applied to Illumina sequencers.  Aaron has a MS in Food Science from Purdue University and a BS in Microbiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
